Magnetic Rotary Encoder MINI Assembly Instructions

Make sure you have all the hardware and 3D-printed parts for the MINI size magnetic rotary encoder.

If you plan to use capacitive touch, you will need to solder a short wire between the CONTROL BOARD and the CAPACITIVE TOUCHPAD.

The corresponding pads are at the center of the boards

solder one side of the capacitive touch wire to the CONTROL BOARD

sandwich the CONTROL BOARD between the BOARD TOP part and the BOARD BOTTOM part

secure using 3x M1.4x6mm self-tapping screws

install 608 bearing

glue on the BEARING TOP HOLDER part to the BOARD TOP

solder the other side of the capacitive touch wire to the CAPACITIVE TOUCHPAD and press fit or glue it to the BEARING TOP HOLDER

install 18x 3x1mm neodymium magnets to the KNOB in an alternating pole configuration (press fit or glue)

attach KNOB

if you are planning to make the clicking “indexed“ encoder, use these parts in place of the default BOARD BOTTOM and KNOB

installing the mounting base is optional, and it may not be needed for your specific application.

secure the base to the encoder using 2x M2x8mm self-tapping screws.
